  • Introductions were made of board members
  • Treasure’s Report – as reported by Bill Fleischma
    • Beginning Balance: $1,136.73
    • Disbursements: $420.8
    • Relationship Acct: $10,012.59
    • Total Assoc. Assets: $12,403.25
  • Secretary’s Report – as reported by Rick Leather

  • Communication Report – as reported by Louise Sayre
    • Asked audience for updated email addresses
    • 38 APLA members now – which is down

Discussion

  • APLA Website – Kathy Smith
    • APLA website being developed by Elliot Gould
    • Website suggestions include:
      • Pictures of invasive plants, snails, activity around the lake
    • APLA also has a Facebook page – send any updates to Tom
      • Action Items
        • Send any updates for the Facebook page to Tom (All)
        • Website suggestions will be passed on to Elliot Gould (MG)

  • Weed Committee – Jeanne Fraser
    • APLA bought landscape material to kill invasive plants
      • Still working on several areas, weed whacking and cutting
      • Vera has not seen invasive plants return to her property
      • Action Items
        • Contact Jeanne if interested in volunteering to help monitor (All)

  • Water Quality – Brant Sayre
    • Water quality is stable, high clarity – up to 4 meters
    • 1 positive test result for ecoli in June, 0 positive tests in July
    • Water samples cost $20 each to have tested
      • Action Items
        • Contact Brant if you want copies of information sheets (All)

  • APLA clothing – Brant Sayre
    • A variety of golf shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc. available
      • Action Items
        • Contact Brant if you want to purchase any of the items (All)

Discussion

  • Wildlife– Jim
    • 1 complaint about a beaver and a trap was set, no damage detected from beavers
    • Muskrats have also been seen along with loons, eagles, and ospreys
    • Loon Association contacted about the loons on the Angle Pond
      • Most likely loons will visit but not nest
      • Boaters should keep a comfortable distance away from the loons or they will flee
        • Action Items
          • Contact Jim if you see beavers and/or beaver damage (All)
          • All boaters should keep a safe distance from loons (All)

  • Activities and Events– Jim
    • Fishing Derby – few participants this year, would like to get more participants
    • Do APLA residents want to have more activities? Other lakes do many more activities.
      • Action Items
        • Contact Jim with ideas or to volunteer for the social committee (All)

    • Get volunteers to walk around neighborhoods and canvas for new APLA members
    • Information flyers would be made up to hand out to local residents
    • Canvas would happen before summer BBQ

Discussion

  • No speaker has been booked for October 3, 2015 meeting. It was suggested that Elliot Gould might be able to give a talk on the topic of websites. UNH Cooperative Extension was mentioned as a possible source to tap into for future APLA speakers.
    • Action Items
      • Contact Elliot Gould to set up initial website planning meeting (KS)
      • Contact UNH Cooperative Extension for possible APLA speakers (MG)
      • Set April board meeting date/time (KS)

Discussion

  • Membership of Angle Pond Lake Association is down/declining.
    • Discussion ensued about the merits of doing a membership drive. Agreement was reached to do a door to door canvas in the spring of 2016. A flyer noting the APLA member benefits would be handed out which would include color pictures, new website info, picnic invitation, and tear off form to send it dues. Kathy agreed to mock up flyer. Melissa agreed to assist her. Melissa and Vera agreed to participate as members of the canvas team. Discussion was held but no decision was made on whether it would be of benefit to have a map made available to APLA members with APLA members house addresses and phone numbers.

        • Produce signup sheet for fall APLA meeting for canvas volunteers (KS)
        • Design APLA member benefits flyer (KS and MG)
        • Hold meeting to design APLA website (KS and Elliot Gould)

Discussion

  • 2015 Fall meeting agenda items
  • Discussion ensued about the upcoming meeting on October 3, 2015. Agenda items to include welcome by the new president, publically thanking Bill Sullivan and John Stanley, re-introduce the new board members, have Tom Hensiek give an update on the 2015 fishing derby, and publically request the formation of a committee to book speakers for APLA meetings.
